Dr. R. Erick Pecha attended the University of Tennessee medical school on a full scholarship after securing the Dean’s Medal in Arts and Sciences from the University of San Francisco while completing biochemistry and “Great Books” degrees.

Inducted into the medical school honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha, he completed a residency in Internal medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of California, Davis in Sacramento.

He has published original research on giant ulcers, suture complications, and authored a book chapter on abdominal pain.

He is married, has six children, and enjoys movies, woodworking, non-fiction books and Shakespeare.
